Such a nice place. We wish we had stayed here the entire week. The owners/hosts were helpful and kind, and it was a quiet spot. The breakfast was top notch - fresh homemade bread & preserves, farm fresh eggs, etc - all was prepared with care. The Hotel is right by biking/hiking trails with access to many more. Close to drive to Baden-Baden or peddle into town on the trail.

My boyfriend and I were looking for affordable alternatives for accommodations since Baden Baden was out of our budget. Hotel Wanderlust is a gem just minutes outside of Baden Baden. The host, Mariann, was so wonderful and super friendly. We didn’t have much planned but Mariann was prepared with maps and booklets and helped us plan our entire stay! On top of that she prepared a great breakfast and the room was super clean. We plan to stay there again for our next visit in the Black Forest.
One can hardly think of a better place with a wonderful view of the hills, all the comforts of a Mediterranean home and hosts who are always there when you need them without being intrusive at all. The apartments are furnished with a lot of taste, generosity and attention to detail. One can tell that a lot of love went into creating this place and this is what makes it so special and different from so many impersonal hotels.
Very clean and comfortable hotel, staff is very friendly and helpful. We liked the location a lot, walking distance from the old center of the town. Restaurants and supermarkets are nearby. There is a bus line going to Baden-Baden close to the hotel (and you get a free-pass for public transport from the hotel). Good places for hiking are driving distance away, either by car or by bus.
Location, Service, Food. The best Hotel we been staying in 10 years. And we travel 3 months/year. This place is fantastic, a 10 plus. Gorgeous super quiet rooms with a view. Excellent dinner, great breakfast. And when we were delayed a day due to illness, the owner only charged us 1/2 of the missed night, even we agreed with Bookings.com that we would have been responsible for 100%.

Booked to celebrate a special Anniversary, as our last planned stop on a Grand Tour road trip. Our room was beautiful, with a 4 poster bed, spacious bathroom and separate toilet. The view from the bedroom and bathroom was stunning. The young receptionist gave us a warm welcome and tried her best. However this was a false impression of the hotel management.
The hosts were super friendly and helpful and pointed us to a local outdoor swimming pool (which was lovely after the heat of the day) and booked us into a wonderful restaurant at a castle overlooking gernsbach. The room was a good size and the bed comfortable. The checkin was easy and overall we had a lovely stay.
the self-service bar downstairs was simply amazing. my husband and I had a great evening there. the interiors of the room and bathroom are very different from what you would usually come across in a German hotel. we loved the Mediterranean vibe. the owners (and their dog!) are also very nice and friendly :)
The housing is so clean and comfortable with a nice view of Black Forest.
The localization is near Gernsbach main street to visit historical place and near of the restaurants and supermarket.
The house is fully equipped, perfect for a couple.
Excellent breakfast
Added unexpected bonus was how pretty Gernsbach Town is. Really easy short stroll away.
Staff rang with key retrieval instructions beforehand. On arrival another member of staff checked we were OK..
Good location for exploring Gernsbach and the surrounding area. Nice apartment and great that it had a washing machine.
Can recommend visiting the tourist information centre in Gernsbach; the staff were very helpful.
This is a greek hotel and restaurant with greek managment. Decoration ans style was greek too. I felt like I'm in Greece. They were friendly and kind. We didn't try the restaurant because it was late when we arrived.
Location. Perfect to break the journey from southern Germany to Frankfurt.
Casual outdoor restaurant with wonderful views of the vineyard and neighboring town. Excellent food and wait staff at table.
