It was great to 'discover' places in alleys and tucked away. People were friendly and we always felt safe, even after midnight. Melbourne is a great place be! My family spends one or two nights there to relax, enjoy eating in restaurants/fast food, have coffee & massages, have haircuts, do our shoppings, play at Strike and Latency Zero and go to clubs/pubs. Either when you take a train or take a plane, spending time at the Spencer Outlet which is right above where the train station is and the regional bus terminal is (incl Skybus for your airport transport) is a bonus allowing & giving you more time to do your last minute shopping & relaxation!Aurora888Australia - 10Scored 10

Superb city. My stay at Holiday Inn Express is very near to the Southern Cross Railway Station. Restaurants, eateries all around the place.
